National Agricultural Library
The National Agricultural Library (NAL) serves as a database for agricultural research and is one of four national libraries in the United States. While at NAL, I worked at the Food and Nutrition Information Center (FNIC) and gained valuable knowledge and hands-on experience in searching for credible nutrition-related information and working with databases and Web-based tools.
International Food Information Council
The International Food Information Council (IFIC) is primarily a U.S. communications organization. During my three weeks rotation at IFIC, I was able to further develop my skills in nutrition communication and writing. I participated in webinars, conducted research, performed literature reviews, wrote an article for the "Food Insight" Newsletter NewsBite, compiled press release information, and researched blogging sites.
